Ingredients
Sauce:
1/3 cup less sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp rice vinegar
Chili crisp in oil to liking
The Rest:
2 lbs ground beef
1 small knob of ginger minced
2 garlic cloves minced
1 iceberg lettuce cut down the middle to create cups
2 tbsp olive oil
Sate to taste
Pepper to taste
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp sesame oil
2 scallion sliced thin for garnish
Sesame seeds for garnish
Preparation
Rinse and cut vegetables accordingly. Set to the side
Prepare sauce - add soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, cornstarch, rice vinegar and chili crisp to a bowl and whisk well. Set to the side
Set a large pan on medium high heat with olive oil, salt and pepper. Once oil is hot, add ground beef cooking for 2 minutes before adding garlic powder and onion powder. Incorporate ingredients well and cook until fully cooked (about 10 - 15 minutes) before straining all liquid from the beef. Return beef to pan
Add minced ginger and minced garlic to the beef and cook for about 3 minutes before adding sauce. Mix in ingredients well (about 3 minutes) until fully incorporated. Remove from heat
Pack iceberg lettuce with ground beef and top with sesame seeds and scallion
Recommended Side: snow peas sautéed in olive oil, salt and pepper is delicious!
